I use paleomagnetism to quantify geodynamic processes on the early Earth, from the surface motions of lithospheric blocks to the deep-seated driving forces of the geodynamo. To do so, I specialize in extracting paleomagnetic information from altered rocks, with an emphasis on unraveling the complexities, mechanisms, and timing of (re)magnetization in seafloor hydrothermal systems.
