Phil received his PhD at the University of Western Ontario with a study of the trace element geochemistry of cyclical volcanism. He put in a 30 year career with the Ontario Geological Survey and took early retirement to join Laurentian University as an adjunct professor. He specializes in Archean greenstone belts. Today's talk is an outgrowth of that interest and attempts to explain the "sedimentary subprovinces of the Superior craton.
