Professional Bio
Martin Whitehouse is an isotope geochemist and geochronologist specialising in the application of microanalysis by secondary ion mass spectrometry to a wide range of geological problems. His research in the Archean focuses on the North Atlantic Craton in NW Scotland, Greenland and Labrador. In addition he uses in situ methods to study early planetary evolution (including the Hadean Earth), as well as Neoarchean to Neopropterozoic tectonics of the Arabian Nubian Shield. He is director of the NordSIMS ion microprobe facility in Stockholm and chair of the Precryogenian subcommission of the ICS.
