Dr Rose Turnbull

Senior Scientist - Anatoki Geoscience Ltd; GNS Science

Professional Bio

Rose is a senior igneous petrologist at GNS Science, New Zealand’s Geological Survey where she undertakes both fundamental and applied research projects. She utilises sophisticated petrological, geochemical, and isotopic methods to answer questions related to the growth and development of the continental crust. Her research interests span from regional-scale geochemical baseline and mineral prospectivity studies, to mineral-scale studies of zircon to understand continental arc dynamics, crustal architecture, plutonism and intrusion-related mineralisation. She also works across a broad range of timescales, from emplacement and mineralisation of Neoarchean granites in central Africa, to anthropogenic influences on Quaternary soil.
